JOURNEY FOR CHRISTIAN GROWTH
Mission Statement
Journey is a Catholic-based adult retreat striving to deepen faith in Jesus Christ and the Church. Our mission is to provide an uplifting experience so you can develop a stronger, more personal relationship with Jesus; to have a greater self-knowledge and a deeper understanding of your Christian faith. Although Journey is Catholic-based we look forward to a chance to establish friendships with people of all walks of faith.
Who We Are
Journey is a weekend experience in the Christian Community focused on adults from 18 yrs old and up. The program is a branch of the “Crusade” retreat experience which was held in Santa Barbara since 1995. Crusade is a program that branched off from the “Search” which has been nationwide for over 40 years. Although it is a Catholic retreat and includes Mass and Reconciliation, people of other faiths are welcome to participate. Journey provides an opportunity for adults to experience a weekend centering on how personal Jesus’ love is for us and the difference that that love can make.
To become a member of Journey you must have attended a retreat at Journey, Crusade or Search.
A weekend consists of a director, an assistant, advisors, a priest for spiritual direction and a team approximately 40+ participants who have gone on a previous Journey, Crusade or Search weekend.
We in Journey participate in the Carnivals and Festivals here at St Joseph’s for fundraising and we periodically hold other fundraising events that we will advertise as needed. We also enjoy other get-together’s throughout the year for those who have made the retreat.
